Before the patterns, there were spreadsheets.
And before the spreadsheets, there were drawings.
Drawing has been the one constant in my life for as long as I can remember. I went to art school alongside my regular education, but in my family, art was always seen as a hobby — something to enjoy in your free time, not something you could build a career around.

For years, I worked with numbers, spreadsheets, and other people’s books. I was good at it, too. There was stability, recognition, and a clear career path.

Then, one day, I came across a course in Adobe Illustrator.

I had always loved technology and learning new things, so I decided to give it a try. I had no idea that this small decision would eventually change the direction of my career.

I was hooked.
Since 2018, I’ve been exploring the space where drawing, color, composition, and technology come together. What started as an experiment gradually became a profession — and eventually, something I couldn’t imagine not doing.

When I draw, I lose track of time completely. The process pulls me in like a black hole. One idea leads to another, a single motif becomes a composition, a composition becomes a hero print, and suddenly an entire collection is taking shape.

That’s what I love about pattern design. It sits somewhere between creativity and structure. There is intuition, but there is also rhythm, scale, balance, color, and the quiet logic of making individual patterns work together.

My background in finance may seem like an unlikely detour, but looking back, I think it gave me something valuable. I love both sides of pattern design — the freedom of creating and the structure of building a collection that works.

Today, I work from my studio in Lithuania as an independent surface pattern designer, creating original artwork for wallpaper, fabric, home decor, and lifestyle products.

My work moves between modern botanicals, coastal influences, vintage florals, folk references, and more playful, expressive directions. I’m drawn to patterns with character — rich in detail but still considered, nostalgic without feeling stuck in the past, and designed to feel at home in contemporary spaces.

I usually begin with a strong hero print and let the collection grow from there: supporting patterns, coordinates, smaller-scale designs, and complementary colorways that give the collection flexibility across different products and applications.
